My sister Megan and I were brought up with death and funerals as part of everyday discussions. Death was not to be feared and was simply a part of life. From a young age I learnt that serving families who suffer a loss is a special priviledge and a truly rewarding role.
I joined my father, Barrie Head, in the family business in 1993 as an embalmer and funeral director, and hold a Diploma in Funeral Service. Married to Philip, we have two children and enjoy life on our small rural block.
I appreciate the wonders of nature we are blessed with here in Taranaki, and enjoy my garden and time at the beach.
I consider it an honour to continue the legacy of my great grandfather Willie Abaraham. I’m immensely proud of the dedicated professionals we call the Abrahams team and believe the support and service we offer families is second to none, and has been for over 95 years.

Taranaki born and bred I joined the army after finishing school at Francis Douglas Memorial College. Megan and I were engaged in 2000 and I left the Army, starting with Abraham’s in 2001.
Qualifying as an embalming in 2002 and Funeral Director in 2005, I have been managing the family business since 2009.
Megan and I are blessed with two young boys and we keep busy travelling in our motor-home, enjoying jet-skiing, fishing and scuba diving.
I’ve always found the funeral profession very rewarding and enjoy building relationships with the families we serve.

I have always been interested in lending a hand and helping people, from my time as a Volunteer Ambulance Officer through to various capacities within my church, it is what makes me tick.
I have been in the funeral industry in Taranaki since April 2002 and joined the Abraham’s team in December 2010.
Outside of work, my favourite footwear is gumboots, and I enjoy spending time with my wife and three children, and tinkering with ‘stuff’.

Born and bred in Taranaki, but having travelled the world, I realise that we live in a pretty special part of a pretty special country.
As a committed Christian – with 20 years pastoral experience – this industry has given me great opportunity to listen, and to care for families in times of real need.
My personal interests include coffee, food, travel, and coffee!
Happily married to Vicky and living in New Plymouth – having also lived in Okato, Eltham, and Stratford – I have five children, four of which live in the province with my three grandchildren, my roots go deep into Taranaki soil.

After 35 years of moving around New Zealand in corporate management positions, I finally found my vocation in the funeral industry when I joined the Abraham’s family in 2017.
With a passion for people, my focus has always been about building relationships and I believe it is a privilege to help families navigate their way through such a difficult time, as they farewell their loved one.
Supported by my wife and three sons I enjoy music, movies, good food, and walking. We consider New Plymouth our home town and final destination, where we look forward to serving our community in the years to follow.

I have been fortunate enough to raise three beautiful daughters and a pug, during which time I loved being a mum and enjoyed being involved with the school community through parent help and fundraising.
Throughout this time it became clear to me that I am passionate about people and relationships, and I thrive on being able to assist others when there is a need.
With that in mind, I decided to broaden my horizons and become a funeral director, a role that encompasses all that I value.
I cherish the time I get to work with families, at what can sometimes be, their greatest time of need. I feel privileged and humbled listening to stories about their loved ones, marking the moments in their lives to be remembered forever.
